I decided to be a social butterfly this year and throw a party. I told most of my friends at least a week in advance or more, with a few acceptions and nearly everyone said "I'm coming for sure!". I stated clearly that if people didn't want to drive in the dark they were more than welcome to come early and if they got trashed there was pleanty of room at my house to crash. Some people had good reason for not to come, you know who you are.
Then, one by one the excuses came the day of the party and what was worse I called THEM I didn't even get a single courtesy call from anyone. I got the distinct feeling that I was only a "back up" in case people couldn't find something better to do. Based on my conversations with a few of my friends. I really don't care who I'm pissing off with this because several people obviously don't care about my feelings at all. This is not the first time this has happened. Its merely the straw that broke the camel's back.
I'm frankly sick of being the back up friend. I've noticed a pattern and its ending now. Fine people, you want to hang out with me YOU plan the parties. I will plan no fun trips, I will plan no hang outs. I'm sick of the lack of consiteration for me. Obviously everyone has more important things to do, fine so do I. I'm sick of being the conveniant friend. I wont make myself available anymore for anyone who needs to complain or cry about thier problems. Hell I wasn't even asking for much and no one, save one person, could put me first for once.
I have a message for you all: Fuck you.My Moody Mood: pissed off

Well my last day was spent as well as it could have been. Last night Linn, Josh, Karen and I did our last round of Karaoke together. I think we had the most fun screaming to Dir en Grey songs cuase it was funny, not even the karaoke people knew the lyrics so they just put random little gibberish symbols on the screen. This afternoon I treked over to Juugaoka with Yuki and Victoria for a haircut. Oh my GOD you people have to see my awsome new hair, its SHORT. I wanna suprize my family at the airport so I wont show an actual picture of me but for those of you who are in the know, I happen to really like the live action movie "Nana" which is hugely popular in Japan right now. I got my haircut like rock- star Nana, see picture below (the anerexic girl on the left):

The girl was really nice to me, she liked X Japan, hide, Malice Mizer and Dir en grey too. She was so nice and gave me a discount! So not only did I get an awsome haircut, but I got it for like 27.00$!! Most people got thier hair crapily done for around 60.00$. After my little adventure with scissors I hung out in Ginza with Yu-chan's Aunt. We ate...ate...and ate some more. And this time I actually ate at the Ginza Cozy Corner that's actually in Ginza. There are others in Tokyo in Akasaka and Shibuya. Now I am desperatly trying to figure out what to do about my purple towels, as I have no more packing space for them...

Sorry about the absence of updates. I've been really busy with school and partying. I am also going to get myself tested for Mono when I get back, as for the past month I have been exhasted plus I've been having re-occuring sore throats. May its all the white russians or mono, who knows!
My friends from the Okayama study abroad came to stay at my place and we did it up right! On friday I took Liss (Kristin Gilbert) out shopping and we did lots of purikura pictures! Once everyone arrived on Friday, we talked then went to sleep. The next day we got up at the crack of 11:00 and went to visit Senkaku-ji (and in the process of getting there, for the first time in my life, I ran down an upward escalator. It was quite a site seeing 5 foreign girls running down an escalator going up.) MY good drinking buddy Karen also came with us and I think she really hit it off with everyone. Senkaku-ji is the shrine dedacated to the 47 Ronnin (see a Japanese history book for details) We took a bunch of pictures and intend to send them to Notre Dame High just to show them the good news! After that we treked over to Tokyo Tower. The view was ok, I know the Mori Tower has a better view but T.T. is famous so we had to go there. T.T. is the HUGEST tourest trap in the world so if you ever go there only bring enough money for the ticket and leave your maxed out credit cards at home!!
Easter Sunday was spectacular. We went to Harajuku that day and poked around for a bit. I wore my Lolita dress and got a bunch of pictures taken of me per usual. What was really awsome was while the other three girls went into the Meiji Shrine (I didn't want to go in there dressed in costume out of respect) I stayed behind and saw all of my Desert Rose Teammates (I was invited to join a X Japan and hide "Team" or small cosplay fan club). Shinon and Seika were there along with some new friends. I made a ton of new Japanese friends and the feeling of good will and respect was all around. This was possibly the best day I've ever spent in Harajuku, indeed it was an Easter miricle! I was also interviewed by Finnish TV and a fashion group from Austrialia asked me to E-mail them on the best places to set up thier Lolita fashion shops in the U.S. I also met this guy from London (who's name I didn't catch, he just called himself by his stage name, "Gas Cloud") He was an interesting fellow to say the least. Apparently Camden London is pretty similar to Harajuku.
So all in all a very pleasurable weekend. Also I did some shopping for people back home. Mike, since you already got stuff I didn't get you anything else, But mom and dad will be thrilled to know that I found a little something for both of you.

Notice I said THINGs not people. People goes withoutsaying and I don't have the time to name every single person I miss. Besides myself and my friend Karen were talking about the things we missed today, I thought I'd share.
1) Pizza. I'm talking about REAL pizza made by REAL italians. None of this crispy tortilla flaky thin non-sence. Same goes for italian food in general. Italian food in Japan just doesn't work.
2) Clothes/shoes that fit. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get here. I'll have to special order everything. I wanna know how morbidly-obesse Japanese people (and they DO exist) get clothes.
3) Protien. I was given this beef in a pita thing from some romanians in Harajuku and oh my god I inhaled it. Rice and fish is delicious and I love it but I'm at the point where if I see a cow anywhere it wont be living long.
4) Rock love. I'm hating all the hip-hop and raggae that's getting rammed down my throat. I wanna kill things. I wear my X Japan patch every single day now.

» The Okayama Experience
Well I went on the almost slow-boat to Okayama as far as bullet trains go. I got on the Nozomi, the fastest train, but since I was a little bit late for that ride there were no seats left. I sprinted with all my bags over to the Hikari, a slower train and managed to get one of the last seats on that train. Unfortunatly that seat was in the smoking car so there were lots of bussiness men there who smoked like factories and my new Japan national jeresey ended up smelling like smoke by the time I arrived at Okayama station four hours later. Tomoko was there waiting for me and it was quite the joyful reunion indeed. We hopped another local train to kurashiki where she lives and were met by her brother and her older brother, Shogo-chan (youngest of the three older brothers). We all ate sushi that night and conversed about umbrella music. They asked for a cake and apparently the "Ginza Cozy Corner" that is by my apartment is famous in Japan so I picked a good place to get cake I suppose. My Japanese was a little better and Tomoko's english was wonderful so there was almost no dictionary surfing the entire weekend. I got to meet Tomoko's brothers as well as her awsome sister in law, Yoshiko. The three of us hung out together the whole weekend. I also found out that Cherry the dog was all grown up and the reason why she kept slipping everywhere was becuase she had infintile paralysis. So now she has trouble walking and eating. She loved to sleep in my futon.
On Saterday Tomoko, Yoshiko, and I went to visit Tomoko's last living grandparent. It was really sad becuase I met all four of her grandparents 5 years ago during my homestay. The husband of her grandmother, you all may remeber, had a horse named Christine and apparently he had taken quite a liking to me when I visited. He wrote about me a couple of times in his journal, about how he felt sad when I left and a year or so later he wrote about how I sent the chocolates for Christmas. He died last year, I guess I just didn't come back quick enough. I cried, I couldn't help it. Her grandmother had a shrine and she kept crying and saying how beautiful I'd become and how happy he must be that I came back to see thier family again. After the emotional moments we had coffee and watched Sumo. Tomoko's grandmother really likes Sumo. After that we went back to Tomoko's house and dispite the rain I wore kimono. We went to the tea house I visited 5 years ago and participated in tea ceremony there. I think I might have impressed one of the teachers becuase I myself study tea and I did things most people don't know (for example, when you finish your tea, you make a slurp noise then you turn the bowl, wipe where you drank from, then study the bowl.) The teacher seemed to enjoy seeing that as most people don't know about it. After that Me, Tomoko, Yoshiko, Tomoko's mom, and Shogo-chan had dinner at a resteraunt called "Udon Daigaku" or "Udon University" it was really good, I had "Yama Udon" or "Mountain Udon".
On sunday we all ate yaki-niku (Korean Bbq) together at Tomoko's house. It was a nice day so we were able to cook the yaki-niku outside. All together it was: Me, Tomoko, Tomoko's mom, Dad, Shogo, Yukari(sho's girlfriend), Mikinori(oldest brother), Yoshiko, and No-chan (middle brother). It was really fun. After that Me and the girls hit the mall for some Puri-kura (print club photos) and some light shopping. Once again we played the claw machines and once again I won something (well this time Yoshiko won it for me). I got a little Sanrio character named "Cinnamoroll" and she is really cute. I now have a full page of Okayama puri-kura for my book and we all look really awsome! We ate dinner later on. Tomoko and Yoshiko found out my darkest secret: my love for Unico and Astro Boy. That evening Tomoko and I watched The first Unico movie, she really liked it! I have to say I'm partial to it myself. Also, The people in Kyoto, to make a long story short lied like hell to me. I told the Yanos what happened (basically I asked what I needed to wear kimono and they only gave me three things. There is a LOT more involved when wearing kimono) and Mama wouldn't stand for it. She not only gave me all the things I needed to wear kimono but gave me one of her old ones as well. She called it "casual" kimono, kimono you'd do house work in but this thing was gorgious. I would never wash dishes or clean up dog doo in this thing. The pattern is waves, not something typical of me but I really liked it.
On Monday, before I had to go back I was given a few final gifts. Yoshiko gave me an Astro Boy postcard, Astro Boy batteries and a very rare Unico gel pin (speaking of post cards, someone should be expecting one soon. Tomoko picked it out. I'll get it in the mail as soon as I can!) And Mama gave me some more gifts. Tomoko, me, Yoshiko, and mama ate lunch at a really nice hotel before setting off for the station. Yoshiko and Tomoko went with me to Okayama station and it was a happy goodbye this time. No tears, no regrets becuase we knew we'd see eachother again soon. I invited both Tomoko and Yoshiko to stay with me in the US sometime. And you better count on me going back to Japan in the future.
Okayama is the real Japan. Though I've stayed in Tokyou longer, I feel like it just doesn't compair to a nice home and a nice family.

» Finally pictures, yaay!!
Don't mind that I look like crap in most of them. These are the pictures from Harajuku and from the Osaka trip with my snuggle-bum Yuichiro. There aren't too many pictures becuase we did print club or purikura pictures instead. Grandma would be proud becuase I'm now doing scrap-book like things. I'm keeping a print club picture book. Now everytime I go somewhere with people I will demand print club photos for my book! Tomorrow I leave for Okayama to reunite with my long lost host family. I expect there will be many tears shed, in joy of course! ^_^

» After this I promise there will be a huge photo update.
Ok I know I haven't been posting many pictures lately but I'm a tad bit tired right now. I'll post pictures form the Osaka Trip and Harajuku next post, I promise. For now I'll tell you about the trip to Osaka, yaaay!
We took the Hikari super express down, the fastest one there is as far as the Japanese bullet trains go. I got a tiny bit train-sick. Once at Shin-Osaka station we hopped another train over to Osaka where his mom picked us up and took us to his apartment. Me and Yuichiro's mom got along just fine. In fact she reminded me of my own mom (well the mom that entertains guests, not the mom that pours water on me while I'm sleeping) so speaking to her was really easy. She made me feel really comfortable. It seems that when I'm not comfortable around people I forget all my Japanese. Yuichiro has seen this first hand when I met his OTHER aunt and uncle. I couldn't speak a word. On Friday and Saterday we walked around Osaka a bit. I found a discount CD store that was like a paradise but by then I had spent all my money on the shinkansen tickets so I only had enough to cover food and subway tickets. We mostly relaxed around his place and on friday night we hung out with his friends, Maimai and Ryohei. They were really nice though I felt sorta out of the loop as I obviously was not on thier Japanese speaking level. But it was stiff fun anyway.
After Yuichiro left on Sunday me and his mom went out for Soba. It was really nice. As I recolect Yuichiro is alergic to Soba, which is a shame becuase its yummy. Then I hopped on a slightly slower, slightly cheaper Hikari train back to Tokyou, hopped on the subway, went a little out of my way to obtain some money at the only ATM that I knew would take my card, then went home. I watched a little Unico with my friend Linn then passed out asleep until this morning. Then To my joy I found I had gotten a responce form Tomoko, my host sister form 5 years ago. Looksl like I'll be buying more Shinkansen tickets this week...

» Fun times with my Harajuku friends!
Ok today was totally awsome. Firstly I got interviewd by no less than three people with video cameras. One of the other times I went to Harajuku me and Linn were interviewed for spanish television. This time I was interviewed for UKTV plus I might MIGHT be in a DVD featurette for the movie "The Grudge II: America/UK version" along with a few friends of mine. So that was pretty exciting. I met up with my Japanese rock friend, Sakuya, and her friends too. In fact there was a rather huge crowd today as far as our friends are concerned. It was Sakuya, and her two friends SASHA and Shuya. Then it was me and my friends: Mark, Yoko, Yuki,Andy, Linn, Catherine, Karen, and Catherine (there wre two catherines). After a while we all branched off and did our own thing. Me Sakuya, Shuya, SASHA, and Mark went our own way. We went to karaoke first then after that we took little print club pictures. I didn't have time to take any pictures today but practically everyone else did so I should be getting emails from them any time now. Both Sakuya and Shuya dressed as hide, identially in fact! ^^ They both looked just like him. I dressed up as a lolita today, my blue lipstic attracted a lot of photographers, and of course I'm not complaining. Pictures to come!

» OMG an update!
Per my father's request, here is a mighty update. Not much has been happening as of late. I've taken a few trips to different places in Tokyou, and I've prepaired a list of places in accordence to my family members. Basically a "where would this person's favorite place in Japan be" as well as a short and hopefully amusing survey I took. If you're left out it means that I haven't found your favorite place yet, have faith!

» Report on the Metronome live show!
This day has been nothing short of spectacular. I went to go see Metronome, a really awesome Japanese underground rock band with my friends Dave and Amy. There were three acts before them, one of which I really enjoyed and wish to see again. Lab. Basement was their name I believe. I managed to catch the bassist’s pick when he tossed it into the crowd. It's currently making it's home in my wallet. While I think bassists shouldn’t be using picks it was certainly cool to say the least. The music was really loud and at the beginning of the show we were right in front of the speakers. I thought my chest was going to cave in. Eventually the Japanese girls let us further into the middle as everyone jocked into possition for the final, most important band to take the stage. Then at long last Metronome took the stage. They were absolutely awesome, though were apparently not as theatrical as they once were on stage. They played such songs as: Mendokusai, Mittsu Kazoero, and DT Sandscript. Everyone head banged, danced, and did Para-Para, which is like dancing with your hands. After the show I managed to snag a CD, T-Shirt, and lab. towel...it was cheap and pink! My first Japanese live band experience was awesome. I can’t wait to go to more.

» Kyoutou trip!
Well I had nothing short of a blast. We rode into Kyoutou station in style on the bullet train called "Shinkansen." After that we actually got a little lost finding the hotel but after a while we found it. We dropped our stuff off then headed over to Kobe to meet some friends for Dinner and shopping. I only got a 2 CD set thing for less than 28.00USD. It's the SEX MACHINEGUNS, LIVE!! Final Attack at Budokan. It rocks almost as hard as X Japan lives, and that's saying something. Anyway the day after we went to 3 different shrines before going to see a show of various different Japanese arts. My shoe did battle with one of the shrine's steps and it lost. I broke my poor Zori (kimono shoe) but luckily it just popped back in and I just need to get some glue to secure it. I got to be one of the participants in the Tea Ceremoney part of the show but alas, no one took pictures of it. The show consisted of Tea Ceremony, koto, ikebana, courtly music, a short comedic skit, maiko (geisha in training) dancing, and Japanese-style puppet theater. I also purchased an antique-style hand painted Kimono for 160.00 USD. After buying the undergarment and obi the bill was 230.00, not too shaby for a Kimono, antique style, handpainted, and from Kyoutou with the stuff you need to wear it with. I'm only going to wear it for special occasions though, like when Yuichiro comes to visit me in March ^_^. Note: this is not the same kimono that I'm wearing in the pictures below. On the final day we only had time to see one temple, Kinkakkuji. Then we rode back home on Shinkansen. All in all a very enjoyable trip.
And now the part you've all been waiting for, the pictures

Hey peoples. Myself, Linn, and Teressa have booked a trip for Kyoto over the long weekend. We're still ironing out the kinks as far as payment is conserned but we'll get it figured out soon (we hope) Me and Linn were a little disappointed that we couldn't see the Female Kabuki plays this time around but they're actually going to play in Tokyou so it'll be ok. Been shopping and I found a really cheap clothing store, 5.00 for shirts!! WOO HOO!!! I also made a new Taiji banner, bow before its cute plushieness.

Weeee! I got to wear the dress that nearly made my father cry (price wise). I borroed socks from Yucca and shoes form Linn and vio-la! I am a French Victorian style Lolita. Here I am in my dress, and posing with MALICE MIZER cosplayers (Gekka Mana and Gardenia Klaha) thier costumes kicked major butt. The J-Rock cosplayers were out en force today. It rocked! I'm so wearing my hide flag (yes wearing) next week...

» I'm sooo lazy with these updates...
So fun times this week! I visited a SAKE TASTING PLACE on thursday. It was the only time in my entire academic carreer that I was enthusiastially encouraged to drink a large amount of alchohol during class. I found 4 brands by the same maker that I love. If you ever find the brand its called: "Kamikokoro" (Heart of God) by Komekomeshu. GOOD stuff. Its made in Okayama, the city I first went to school when I came to Japan in 2001. On friday I went to Vannilla, a club in Tokyou, with Karen and Lin. We were dubbed a "securety hazzard" by a bouncer named Iisac. Apparently it was a compliment. Then today, Lin and I went to Harajuku, where I purchased presents for Yu-chan and Mikey and me. The dress I bought well...lets just say the price made my father cry...almost. But its ok I'm not a big spender and i was planning on getting said dress, you will see pictures soon.

» Yippidee do da, Yippidee yay!
Ok I'm exhausted but I'm going to write this entry before today goes out of my head. No pictures yet as Obasan took them all and hasn't sent them to me yet. Well anyway I got up early and we met at my dorm. Took the Tokyou to the JR to Maihama station which is essentially the Tokyou Disney Land station. At first it was just me and Obasan, Ojisan had stuff to do this morning. We went on the Peter Pan ride first, nothing special other than it was in Japanese. Next, we went on Mikey's favorite ride. You guessed it, SPACE MOUNTAIN. Oh yeah, you're all jealous. And very Japanese-like the 3 hour wait I was used to in the U.S. was no more than 30 minutes. See they have this system at T.D. called paid and non-paid. You can get on any ride for free in T.D. but if you pay a small ticket fee you get preference over everyone else. So if the line is 3 hours long and you pay the fee, you get in within 10 minutes. After Space Mountain we watched a Princess Parade (also in Japanese, although the princesses and princes were all western). Then after some pictures with various Disney Characters (Aka people in suits)Ojisan met us for a lite lunch before we left for more ride fun. The park itself was small than Disney World but the stuff they have there is really awsome. All of the Animatronics look REAL and they are silent when it comes to mechanical noises and such.
Like the ride "The Pirates of the Carrebian." I thought the pirates were real at first, like actors until I noticed a few well-placed metal bars in thier arms and such. The movements were so life like! In the Buzz Lightyear Game/Ride they hade a life-sized Robitic Buzz with a HOLOGRAPHIC FACE. Awsome Stuff I tell you. I need to remind my Astronomy professor about riding Space Mountain twice and seeing stars, nebulae, and galexies. He'd get a tickle from that. We also went on "Star Tours" which was a flight simulator (which made me slightly ill afterward. Darn motion sickness.) I had a ton of fun, I even got a cool hat which you'll see in a ton of pictures becuase it rocks. Then again I think it puts Grandma's "Minnie" hat to shame. Oh well. I think the most interesting part of the day was seeing which Disney cartoons were popular and which weren't. I didn't see a single thing from The Lion King, Aladin (Jasmine wasn't in the princess Parade, yet Marie from Aristocats was...), and Pocahontas there. Stitch and Marie are HUGE here. All the girls love stitch (I got a picture with him, huzzah!) and I see Marie stuff everywhere. Apparently the place I'm going to saterday, Disney Sea, is more Marie themed. As far as rides go, mostly the same stuff that we have only on a smaller scale. And of course, I got to ride through "Its a small world after all" once again in my life, fun times indeed. But it really was a fun day. I got a lot of Japanese practice in, since I missed class today (I informed my teachers and they were cool with it.)
Be sure to stay tuned for my next post for it will be full of pictural goodness.

» Roomate Suprise
Not much has been happening the last few days in the realm of fun adventures less you count getting lost in Tokyou which is actually really fun. In the U.S. if you get lost in the wrong place you're dead. In Tokyou those "wrong places" don't really exist so getting lost and discovering new places is a lot more fun. It looks like I'll be getting a roommate after all. See my old roommate, Jean moved into a single. Now logically, she'd be refunded for this room and only charged for the new room. Well since this is actually a hotel and not a dorm that's not the case so in an attempt to get some of her lost money back she's renting her paid-for half of the room to our mutual acquittance Yucca. Now, I was really pissed off at first but I supposed, had i been in her position I'd rent out the room too. Still it was sort of a nasty suprise. She was supposed to have moved in days ago, and at the time I only had a day's notice to clean up and such. I doubt Yucca will be a problem but after my last roommate fiasco at LaSalle I'm not very trusting. Anyway on thursday I'll be going to Tokyou Disneyland with Obasan and Ojisan! That will be fun for sure. I'll be sure to take a ton of pictures. On the 28th we're going to the Disney Sea which is another theme park all together. I'm really looking forward to it.

So I went to the TUJ clubbin party right and I had a BLAST!! All my friends from class were there including Yuki and her friends. I hung out with them the majority of the time actually. I met a lot of new people, most of which were Japanese! Yoko didn't come out so I was a little sad. but i met a bunch of nice ladies and gents ( don't worry Yuichiro, they ALL know all about how I have a boyfriend and how he's the best BOXER in Osaka heehee). I even met another X Japan freak. His name is "Michael Davis" or so I am told haahaa. He's going to introduce me to some other X japan friends in Harajuku. I've also been charged with finding him and my other friend Fumi American girlfriends. I warned them of the dangers but they wouldn't listen. haahaa. I managed NOT to spend too much money last night so that makes me a happy camper. Oh and its SNOWING right now, I took a picture of it but I be too lazy to post it right now, and you all know what snow looks like anyway.
